Breakfast is its own restaurant category in the United States. Diners serve eggs, pancakes, hash browns and bottomless coffee from early morning, sometimes around the clock; breakfast and brunch restaurants open around 7 and close in the early afternoon; delis and sandwich shops sell egg sandwiches and bagels to go and switch to lunch by 11. Weekend brunch, roughly 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., is the busiest shift of the week, and well-known spots run waits of 30 to 60 minutes; many now take reservations or a waitlist through an app. Expect large portions, free refills on drip coffee and a tip of 15 to 20 percent for table service. Creperies, waffle houses and bistros round out the group with sweeter or European-style menus.
Hours are published for 7 days a week. On most of those days it is open 9 amโ5 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (239) 689-5330. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. More information is available on its website, peculiarplaycafe.com.

Fort Myers is in Florida, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Fort Myers follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Fun third space! This has a more fleshed out cafe than most other play cafes. I visited with my toddler and the grandparents. They had smoothies and a breakfast bagel while I had a latte with pizza bagel. They were able to make our food without any dairy, even confirming first while making our order. You scan QR code to order and pay. It was pretty loud at first with a couple older kids but it calmed down. They also play music and it can be a lot of sounds. There is a calmer room in the back if needed. My toddler was a bit nervous in the beginning, too picky for the pizza so I shouldโve probably ordered the grazing board. He really really enjoyed it by the end. No doubt weโll be back when we visit family.

This is hands down our favorite family-friendly spot in Fort Myers! Every single menu item weโve tried has been top-notch, and at this point, weโve probably had half the menu ๐ They have one of the most kid-friendly menus, with everything from pizza bagels to grazing plates (perfect for picky eaters like mine). My oldest loves to get the Kids Latte (chocolate milk) so he can be like his mommy! PLUS itโs so clean-which is huge when kids are constantly playing and eating. My boys (4 & 1) are obsessed and never want to leave. If you need a spot to get some work done or just relax while the kids burn off energyโฆ or youโre searching for the best kid-friendly restaurant in SWFLโthis is it! ๐

Iโve been to Peculiar twice now, and every visit has been amazing! The food is absolutely delicious, and even my one-year-old loves it. The atmosphere is fun, welcoming, and family-friendly, with a safe area for little ones to play. Everything is always clean, super cute, and has such a great vibe. Definitely one of our favorite spots!

I came here for the first time with a friend and her child and had a GREAT experience. The staff were so warm and welcoming. The play area was maintained and VERY clean. The food and beverages were DELICIOUS! I had the banana matcha and it was the perfect balance between matcha and homemade banana syrup. We all ordered food as well and were basically licking the crumbs off the plate. They do request that you order a certain monetary amount while the children are playing, which is VERY fair. I will definitely be back with my son.
